About the Ship
The Motor Yacht “Hans Christian Andersen” was built in 1972 in Groningen, Holland. The initial idea was to create a luxurious sailing-ship for taking wealthy clients on cruises around the Caribbean. Subsequently the ship was converted into a modern style motor vessel serving as a training ship for a Danish navigation school.
The ship was rebuilt in 2006 to serve as an adventure cruise ship, fitted with a new and more powerful engine and all modern navigation equipment. The new adventure cruise ship under a Danish ownership was renamed “Hans Christian Andersen” after the world famous Danish fairytale author and poet.
The ship has 20 comfortable cabins situated on a lower and an upper deck.
Lower deck cabins are all situated above the water line, and each has two portholes. Choose between two, three or four person cabins, all with air-conditioning and en suite toilet and bath.
Upper deck cabins are slightly more spacious. They are all fitted with large panorama windows, double beds, air-conditioning and en suite toilet and bath.
Extra charge for single occupancy in two person cabins.
The ship has three main passenger decks.
The dining area is located on the main deck. It is the perfect place to relax with a book or to trade stories about the activities of the day.
There are two shaded sundecks – ideal for sunbathing and relaxation. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the spectacular tropical sunset while our skilful bartender creates a refreshing sundowner for you.
Indoor you will find the “Fairytale salon and bar” nice and cosy – perfect if you wish to cool down or if you wish to have your meals served inside.
A TV area can also be found inside, so while mom and dad enjoy a quiet drink on the deck, the kids can watch a DVD or play games in the salon.
If you need to cool down during the hot hours, take a dip in the refreshing open air whirlpool bath located on the forward deck.
