Number 2: The Plunge

Canyon swing in Danao is a fairly new facility. It has a platform on the edge of a cliff above thick vegetation and a narrow river. The harness keeps one’s arms and legs free.

I heard about this, months before when we met up with my mountaineer canyoning guide in Cebu. At first it appealed only to adrenalin junkies but it has become more and more popular. We have been eyeing it for months, constantly watching it in youtube and discussing if we will really go through it. Even as I was waiting for my flight in the airport, I still wasn’t sure.

First step: wear the harness and helmet – DONE

Second step: walk through the edge of the platform – DONE

Third step: have your feet tied – DONE (no turning back)

Fourth step: Launch!!!!!

Last step: scream your lungs out! (nothing to do now but to spread your arms and enjoy the ride)

What a rush! Once I got past the initial jolt of the drop, I looked down at the great view and felt the cool breeze on my face.
