On September 24, 1944 this island was a witness to the US Navy’s aerial bombardment of the Japanese cargo and support vessels, seeking shelter in its turquoise waters. These have now become a sanctuary for a variety of marine creatures that call these wrecks their home.

Location

Sangat Island is a tiny island in the Philippines situated 2 km off the coast of Busuanga close to Barangay Bintuan, Coron in the northern part of the Calamian Islands in the province of Palawan, the Philippines Western-most islands.

• The island, more than 700 hectares in size, provides a unique natural experience with its crystal clear seas, hot springs, lush tropical forests and a fascinating variety of flora and fauna. The beachfront setting provides easy access to snorkeling and boating activities.
• In order to minimize damage to the ground cover, all cottages are built on stilts with overhanging decks and hammocks for daytime relaxation.
• All of their cottages feature wooden decks where you can relax in a hammock while listening to the exquisite songs of tropical birds in the overhanging palm trees and the tranquil sound of the waves against the shore.
• For the real nature lovers who want the privacy of their own beach with the most exotic surrounding, Sangat Island Reserve now has available for rental a beautiful native style villa. The Lambingan Villa is ideal for families, honeymooners and wildlife lovers.
• The new villa is situated on it’s own private beach called “Lambingan” next to Sangat Island Reserve’s resort beach. The only access to Lambingan is by boat or hanging foot bridge connecting the resort beach and the Villa beach. Guests staying there are provided with their own kayak. The Villa is built into the natural limestone formations, which actually enclose the lower deck except for the entrance leaving a prime beach view.
• The second floor consists of a spacious double bedroom and two toilets. This level is walled by native bamboo woven walls (sawali) and has a bamboo floor. The bedroom has a dresser, built in cabinets and drawers and a ceiling fan.
• The top floor or attic room is the master bedroom and looks out over the sea at one end and the limestone forest at the other end. The view is exceptional and is the most amazing place to wake up to in the morning. This spacious master bedroom covers the entire top floor and has a family size bed, dresser, built in cabinets, drawers, ceiling fan, satellite TV with DVD and a stereo CD player.
• The bathroom is also enclosed by limestone walls and makes the most exotic and spacious Balinese style bathroom you can imagine.

• The lower deck is designed for hanging out and has four comfortable Mexican style hammocks and hanging tables where one can relax while admiring the fantastic view of the beach and surrounding rock formations.

• Restaurant – You may decide if you would like your meals cooked for you at the Villa or you may dine at the resort restaurant. Sangat Island Reserve’s beach-side restaurant offers international cuisine served buffet style. You will always be served a combination of fresh seafood delicacies and meats, vegetables, salads and fruits.
• Bar – In our bar, you can taste exotic cocktails, international wines or the famous local San Miguel beer. The closing hour is up to our guests.
• Sangat Island Reserve also has a wide variety of boats available for use. Their boats are designed and built by local craftsmen and can be used by the guest for a variety of activities. Boats, in fact, provide for all the logistics on the island as Sangat Island, ringing by steep limestone cliffs, is very difficult to traverse unless one is traveling by sea.
• Diving – Sangat Island Reserve has a dive facility large enough to cater for all their guests. Rental equipments are also available for all sizes. The centre houses an air and NITROX Filling station ran by 2 BAUER K14 and one brand new LW 280 compressors. Tanks are available with INT or DIN valves: single 80 cubic foot tanks, twin 80cubic foot tanks and 40 cubic foot stage tanks. Side mounts for TEC divers can be provided as well. The dive sites around Sangat Island offer excellent opportunities for technical divers! The average depth, between 25 and 40 meters, is ideal for diving with enriched air. The combination of enriched air with twin tanks gives you a longer bottom time to explore the beautiful wrecks of Coron Bay. Almost all wrecks are in good condition and penetrations are possible for experienced wreck divers.
• Safety is most important for a relaxed diving experience. Our Instructors are both O2 DAN Instructors; an O2 box is always on board. There is a recompression chamber in Coron and an excellent hospital in Culion.

Activities

• Hot Springs – If you really want to relax, why not check out our very own hot spring! These natural geothermal springs are a short distance from the Resort, accessible only by sea kajak. A dip before breakfast is highly recommended!
• Snorkeling – Sangat Island Reserve offers extraordinary opportunities for snorkelers. You can just swim out to a wonderful snorkeling spot on the Sangat housereef. Or you take a kajak and paddle 5 Minutes to the coral garden around the corner. You don`t necessarily have to be a diver to discover the wrecks of Coron. There are some wrecks like the Sangat Gunboat or the Lusong Gunboat in snorkeling depth.
• Diving – Sangat Island Reserve offers a premier SCUBA diving facility. With 11 shipwrecks and a huge variety of tropical reef dives very close to the resort, Sangat is the perfect place to experience the exotic natural environment above and underwater.
• Nature Walks – Old Tagbanua trails lead through the forest maze to unveil the fabulous natural environment for a first-hand experience. Take a short walk into neighboring valleys or brave a trek into the islands interior. Either way it will be a hike to remember. The thick jungle undergrowth of the island hides a multitude of nature’s secrets, untouched during the development or operations of the resort.
• Bird Watching – Sangat Island is home to a number of endangered and endemic birds including the Palawan Hornbill, the Palawan Flowerpecker, the Yellow Throated Leafbird, the White Vented Shama and the Blue Paradise-Flycatcher.

Lakawon is 48 kilometers north of Bacolod City, the provincial capital. The island is accessible from the coast of Barangay Cadiz Viejo via a 20-minute boat ride.

Location

El Nido is a municipality located at the northwestern tip of the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is about 430 kilometers southwest of Manila, and about 238 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan’s capital. El Nido is bordered by the Linapacan Strait in the north, the Sulu Sea in the east, and the South China Sea in the west.

Miniloc Island is one perfect destination for a tropical holiday with family and friends, honeymoon, or even business meetings as it provides the facilities and services fit for the said activities.

• Clubhouse
• At the Clubhouse, terrace is the restaurant where guests have a view of the cove, the sea, and the nearby islands. The restaurant serves a selection of local and international cuisine, both buffet-style and a la carte.
• Also located at the Clubhouse are the resort boutique and an air-conditioned conference room that can accommodate up to 40 persons theater-style and 30 persons classroom-style.
• Pavilion Bar
• The pavilion bar, game area, and video room are located at the center of the beach area. Nearby is the Marine Sports Center which is fully-equipped with snorkeling and diving gear, kayaks, windsurfing boards, aqua-bikes, and hobie cats.
• Beach beds and bamboo cabanas are also lined along the fine white sand beach, especially made for those who wish to soak up the sun.
• Fire warning system – Smoke detectors are available in each room.
• Fire extinguishers – Bedroom corridors are equipped with a fire extinguisher.
• Fire escapes – The escape routes are clear of obstruction at all times.
• The resort clinic is equipped with basic medical facilities and manned by a qualified nurse

Accommodation and Rates

Miniloc Island Resort has a total of 50 rooms with a variety of accommodation styles: 7 Water Cottages, 5 Seaview Rooms and 10 Deluxe Seaview Rooms built on stilts, 13 Garden Cottages surrounded by tropical plants, 3 Cliff Cottages nestled high in the hillside and 12 Beachside Rooms. All cottages and rooms are built facing the sea and have private verandahs that offer views of the cove and the nearby islands.

The cottages and rooms at Miniloc Island Resort are built with thatched roofs and furnished with indigenous Filipino materials. The local flavor extends to the cottages and rooms from the wooden floors and walls made of woven bamboo slats (locally called sawali) to furniture hand-made from natural materials such as bamboo and rattan. All cottages and rooms are air-conditioned and have a mini bar, a hair dryer and private toilet, shower facilities and private verandahs that offer views of the cove and the nearby islands.

Room Facilities

• Showers & toilets – each room has a private toilet and shower with bath amenities and a hair dryer.
• Water – Both hot and cold running water are available in every room’s shower facilities.
• Electricity – Electricity (220 volts, 60 cycles) is available 24 hours. Outlets are for plugs with two flat prongs. Transformers and adaptors are available at the resort.

Child Policy:

• Children 2-11 years old on Room Rate arrangement shall be charged Kiddie Meal rates at the resorts accordingly.
• Additional children 7 years old and above joining 2 persons in the room are subject to extra person charge on Room Rate arrangement.

Other Charges:

• Private Roundtrip Boat Transfers: Guests requiring private boat transfers outside the regular airport boat shuttle shall be charged compulsory private boat transfer rate of Php 6,000.00++ for 1-5 persons, Php 1,000.00++ per additional pax, subject to 10% service charge and 12% VAT. Guests arriving/departing on flights other than Island Transvoyager or on other arrangements have option to wait at El Nido Airport and join the regular airport boat shuttle at no extra charge.
